Humane Long Island has taken in Honey, a dog rescued from the “forgotten dogs room” at Sportsman’s Kennels — the Long Island puppy mill exposed in a breaking Humane World for Animals undercover investigation for confining sick dogs in filthy, cramped cages, and housing mothers in roach-infested birthing areas.

“These investigations keep proving the same thing: when animals are bred for profit, cruelty follows,” said John Di Leonardo, Executive Director of Humane Long Island. “Honey is safe now, but countless dogs remain trapped in misery. The power to end this is in the public’s hands — adopt, never shop.”

Honey’s rescue shines a light on what dogs endure behind closed doors at commercial breeding operations. Strong laws like the Puppy Protection Act and CARE for Animals Act are urgently needed — and so is your voice.

🐾 Adopt. Don’t shop.
